Wow... Loved this neighborhood bakery/sandwich/ grocery store. If you are in this area, you must stop by to grab their freshly baked bread sandwiches. I came by the place 3 times during my 4 days there. Great meals do not have to cost a lot. My sandwiches were 5 Euro each.

Really lovely pastries and pizza, with a TON of options. Easy to see why this bakery is so popular! I wish they offered to heat up the pizza, but even room temp it was great. The pastry thing I tried was maaaassive and too sweet for me, but def can see why it's a hit if you're in the mood for something dessert-y.

Roscioli is a MUST-stop when in Rome! Be prepared to wait in line, but it does move pretty quickly. They are a staple in the area and you can just tell that it is beloved. They offer a ton of beautiful bakery items, pizzas, sandwiches, and more. Their team was very friendly and helped us make our selections. Most of all, the food was OUTSTANDING. We are still talking about our Roscioli experience now, months after visiting. I wish we had the time to return again on our trip but will just have to wait until our next visit. Be sure to make the trip over to Roscioli if you are in Rome - you won't regret it!

Great pizza and Arancini. If you see a line, don't worry, it moves fast. It gets a little confusing when you get inside there, but don't get muscled out by the locals and you'll do just fine. Try to know your order as you approach the counter or you could get steam rolled. You could hang outside and eat. There's not much space. However, overall, it's a must visit.

Roscoili is a busy spot and it deserves all of the hype. It is mostly locals and some tourists who have found this gem (like us). They have a market inside that sells pastas, pastries, sauces, oils, etc. as well as their pizza and aranchinis. The pizza is amazing-- we ordered the spicy pepperoni and sausage, pesto, and "ham". All were amazing but the pesto was so different and just phenomenal. The only downside is that there is little to no seating so be prepared to stand or wait for a table.

The best Porchetta sandwich in tourist area for me. Service is friendly and efficient. Very busy with limited area outside to stand or sit.

The pizza rossa here remains perfect, and I think we're learning that their square slices are hard to beat -- we got one with burrata, olives, and sun dried tomatoes that was absolutely incredible. I still prefer the pizza bianca at Campo De Fiore, and I'd love to try the one at Panificio Bonci. The line on a Sunday was insanely long, so a weekday might be a better choice next time.

From Chicago, first time in Rome. This is one of the oldest bakeries in Rome, and the pizza is incredible! We had the margarita pizza with exquisite mozzarella flavor and a red pizza called pizza rossa. It has no cheese, but it is delicious! Side by side, I prefer it over ordinary pizza with mozzarella. It brings out the wonderful crust and tomato flavors. I also tried the popular Menabrea beer, since 1846. Very light and refreshing! If you can only stop at one place in Rome to try pizza, I would recommend this!

Definitely worth the stop - we actually went twice in one day! Earlier on, they were serving thin crispy Roman style pizza and later they had added thick foccacia style breads. We tried tomato, sausage and mushroom, and creamy potato thin crust. The tomato and sausage/mushroom were great. The potato one not so much - potatoes were undercooked and the flavor was a little bland. For the foccacia style, we tried the mortadella/burrata and one with olives and capicola?/burrata. The mortadella one was so creamy and savory, the other was more salty and strong flavored - both tasty. We had leftovers that we finished for breakfast the next day. I also tried a suppli which was great too - perfectly crispy, cheesy and flavorful. It was less busy in the morning, but both times it was easy to place the order and not long to wait. Order what you want at the food counter then pay at separate counter while you wait for the food. A few tables outside you can stand and eat at but watch out for the hungry birds!
